Michael James Jackson, born on December 4, 1973, is an English football manager and former professional player. He played as a defender for various clubs in the Football League, including Crewe Alexandra, Bury, Preston North End, Tranmere Rovers, Blackpool, and Shrewsbury Town. Jackson appeared in 102 matches for Tranmere Rovers between 2002 and 2006. In July 2020, he was appointed as the manager of Tranmere Rovers, succeeding Micky Mellon. Prior to this role, Jackson had managerial experience at Shrewsbury. He currently serves as an under-23 coach for Burnley and has contributed significantly to Tranmere Rovers' recent successes, including two promotions and three trips to Wembley.
